Alysoun Wells is an emerging artist who has lived and worked in many parts of Canada. Her work in Medical Imaging, as well as working with adults and youth in outdoor settings, has set a foundation for figurative and nature themes in her art. Whether working in two or three-dimensional forms, her works always have a textural, organic feel, inviting the viewer to touch or explore the piece visually.
Themes of transformation through decay are key, with a positive message of coming through to the other side through hope and humour. "I don't believe that anything or anyone can grow without a part of them being left behind. Despair, death or decay bring about conscious decisions or alternatively fate decides and can be the impetus to move forward. Hope is that spark of light that pulls us through, leaving the detritus behind."

Wells is currently in her 3rd year of pursuing open studies in Visual Fine Arts at the Grande Prairie Regional College (GPRC). She is involved in the arts community, donating works to the Art Gallery of Grande Prairie (AGGP), the Centre for Creative Arts, and affiliated groups for fund-raising endeavours while at the same time building a body of work with the aim of showing. She curently lives and works amongst her livestock rurally, outside Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada.
